Last year I wrote a whitepaper on behalf of Databarracks (registration required) examining experiences and attitudes of law firms I interviewed which have adopted cloud services. It highlights their common concerns and perceived barriers to entry, most prominently security of data. It also criticises my regulatory body, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, for not having a position on cloud. The SRA subsequently released its own paper on cloud (PDF). I’m sure they were writing it already. We’re currently compiling a one-year-on update so watch out for this too.
