ICO guidance on data in the cloud

As I said previously, you can keep your data secure in the cloud. I’ve written a report with a host of industry experts explaining how to do this.

The Information Commissioner has also published guidance. He is the regulator responsible for uphICO cloud computingolding data protection laws in the UK and will fine you up to £500,000 if you get data security wrong. If the EU Data Protection Regulation makes it through, that could jump to 5% of global turnover and that’s no April Fool’s joke!

His guidance is therefore worth a look too.
