Risks of using AI with personal data

AI – particularly generative artificial intelligence – needs data. The more data it can access, the better. This can present risks to personal data. For example, data leaks, data poisoning, algorithm corruption, misuse of data, profiling or discrimination. There are ways to address this including:

  1. Transparent policies
  2. Data minimisation
  3. Encryption
  4. Audit AI
  5. Ethics
  6. Human oversight
  7. Contract

That last one is a given — I’m a contract lawyer after all! For more information on these risks and how to manage them, read the full article on the HCR website.
